EASTERN WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY AWARDED FIVE YEAR HSE ACADEMIC REACCREDITATION AT THE OCTOBER 2023 NAB MID-YEAR MEETING

Eastern Washington University continues their NAB Accredited Health Services Degree Program

WASHINGTON, DC – During the October 2023 Mid-Year Meeting, the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) Board of Governors awarded five year accreditation to Eastern Washington University. Eastern Washington’s HSE degree program has been accredited since 2017 and has risen as a high- quality program in a short span of time through the commitment and dedication of university leadership and faculty.

NAB Chairman Z Thomas presented the award on October 27th, 2023, and recognized Eastern Washington University for its commitment to higher education and quality program standards for graduates entering the senior living and health services profession. “We are thankful to NAB and the accreditation site visit team for this momentous acknowledgement and honor. This accreditation is a testament to the work of the entire community, staff, faculty, students, alumni, and friends. What a privilege it is to work in such a community, and how satisfying indeed it is to see that reflected by the NAB site visitors. We are extremely appreciative to the NAB site visit team for such a well-planned, well-executed, and enjoyable visit. Your efforts contributed substantially to the quality of the meeting and the effectiveness of the interchange was enhanced by the professionalism displayed by your team. We are thrilled to be a part of the exceptional group of NAB- accredited programs.” Dr. Lynn Anidi, Department Chair and Rosalee Allan, Senior Lecturer, accepted the award on behalf of Eastern Washington University.

Established in 1995, NAB's academic accreditation program goals are to improve and strengthen the academic preparation of Health Services Executives—a goal we believe educators share. NAB encourages improvement of baccalaureate and graduate level HSE degree programs by application of specific accreditation requirements to measure characteristics of a program, and by making judgments about the overall quality of the program.

NAB’s accreditation program has evolved over the past 25 years from a degree in nursing home administration to the current Health Services Executive (HSE) degree program preparing students to meet practice standards in all lines of senior living and health services in states that have adopted the NAB HSE standard. Currently 26 states have adopted the NAB HSE standard.

NAB, the nation’s authority on licensing executives in senior living and health services to deliver quality care, convenes 52 state regulatory boards and agencies, former state regulatory board members, academics, continuing education sponsors, and affiliated associations.
