WASHINGTON, D.C., February 16, 2024 - The National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) announced today a leadership transition to further strengthen its commitment to the profession. Effective January 1, 2024, Michelle Grachek, M.Ed., CAE, previously serving as President, will now take on the full responsibilities of President and CEO.

This strategic transition marks a pivotal moment in NAB's succession plan in which Randy and Michelle split the President and CEO title for the past year, fostering continuity and a seamless handover of executive leadership. Randy Lindner, who has served as NAB’s President and CEO for the past 27 years, will step back from his CEO role, entrusting the position of President and CEO to Michelle Grachek.

Reflecting on his tenure, Randy Lindner stated that he is thrilled to have a strong leader to assume his leadership role with NAB and take NAB into the future. “Michelle is well prepared, has a strong track record of experience and success in the field, and will carry on the tradition of passion for the profession and the importance of public protection. NAB is very fortunate to have Michelle as its new President and CEO,” said Lindner.

Michelle Grachek expressed her enthusiasm for the new role, saying, “I am so honored to follow in the footsteps of Randy Lindner. I have learned so much from his phenomenal leadership of NAB over the past six years and am ready to take the organization into the future. We are at a crucial point in the profession of senior living and health service administration as we continue to face COVID outbreaks, workforce issues, and increased interest in license mobility. My goal is that NAB will be a constant resource available to assist our member licensing boards and agencies in meeting their responsibilities of ensuring public protection across the country.”

Michelle joined NAB in January 2016 after serving as the Director of Operations for the American College of Healthcare Administrators (ACHCA). With a wealth of educational, governance, and project management expertise, Michelle has been instrumental in advancing public protection through collaboration with regulatory jurisdictions across the United States.

As part of this transition, Randy Lindner will continue to support NAB through consulting and special projects as CEO-Emeritus. He also remains Vice-Chairman on the Bostrom Board of Directors, NAB’s association management company.
